About Oppenheimer:
“Oppenheimer” is this intense movie that came out in 2023, and it’s all thanks to Christopher Nolan, the guy who wrote and directed it. The movie tells the life story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the dude who played a big role in making the atomic bomb during World War II. Cillian Murphy is the main actor, and there are also other big names like Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., and Florence Pugh in the cast. The movie goes deep into Oppenheimer’s career, especially his time in the Manhattan Project and the tough times he faced, like a tricky security hearing in 1954.
The whole process of making the movie started in 2021 when Universal Pictures won the bid for Nolan’s screenplay. They filmed from February to May 2022, using a mix of IMAX 65 mm and large-format film. Nolan, who’s known for using real stuff instead of computer tricks, kept the CGI to a minimum. “Oppenheimer” got an R-rating, the first for Nolan since 2002. It premiered in July 2023, making over $954 million worldwide.
The movie got pretty famous, especially when it was shown back-to-back with Warner Bros.’s “Barbie” in a double feature called Barbenheimer. Not only did it win five Golden Globe Awards, but it also made it to the top-ten films of 2023 according to cool groups like the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute.
